These answers come from our own factory — 4,000 m², 18 production lines, 15,000 pcs daily and 450,000 pcs monthly — covering MOQ (100 pcs), sampling (7–15 days), bulk lead time (30–45 days) and quality control.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your MOQ for horse tack orders?
OEM orders start from 100 pcs per model; ODM orders (new designs developed from your brief) start from 100 pcs. Samples are available before bulk — logo samples in 3–5 days.
Are you a factory or a reseller?
We are the manufacturer — horsemerch.com — with a 4,000 m² facility, 18 production lines and 15,000 pcs daily output. The numbers on our spec sheets are the numbers on your cartons.
What products do you manufacture?
Saddle pads and covers, halters and lead ropes, bridles and reins, horse rugs and fly sheets, grooming and stable supplies, leg protection and feeding equipment. If you have a specific item, send the spec — we will confirm production capability.
Can you put my logo on the products?
Yes. Embroidery, woven labels and printed labels are all produced in-house. Send a vector logo (AI, EPS or PDF) and we will confirm placement, size and sampling time — usually 3–5 days for a logo sample.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM: we produce an existing model with your logo, colors and packaging (MOQ from 100 pcs). ODM: we develop a new model from your drawings or sample (MOQ from 100 pcs, sampling 10–15 days).
How long do samples and bulk orders take?
Logo sampling 3–5 days; material sampling 7–10 days; ODM design sampling 10–15 days. Bulk production takes 30–45 days from order confirmation and deposit.
Do you provide export spec sheets?
Yes. Every quote carries fixed numbers per SKU: unit price, dimensions, materials, unit weight, packing rate, carton size and lead time — not placeholder copy.
What payment terms do you accept?
Standard terms are 30% deposit to start production and 70% balance before shipment, by T/T. Terms can be discussed on confirmed repeat orders.
How do you ship samples and bulk orders?
Samples ship by international courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS), prepaid or freight collect. Bulk shipments go by sea or air under EXW or FOB terms, packed in export cartons with a fixed carton size per SKU.
What quality checks do you run?
Incoming material inspection, in-line checks during production and final inspection against the approved sample before packing. For large orders, third-party inspection can be arranged at the factory.

How do I book a factory audit or a third-party inspection?
Factory audits and third-party inspections are arranged with about 7 days’ notice at our 4,000 m² plant in Zhejiang. Send the audit date and the inspector’s company to WhatsApp +86 133 8657 5871, and we will have incoming material records, in-line check sheets and your running order available on the floor — inspection happens before cartons are sealed, not after.
Which compliance and material documents can you provide for the EU and US markets?
Compliance files for fabric, filling and hardware are provided before shipment on request, together with certificates of origin and the commercial invoice and packing list that travel with every order. We do not publish certificate numbers for this yet; send your target market and retailer and we confirm in writing which document applies to that listing before you order.
Do you use zinc alloy or stainless steel hardware on halters and bridles?
Hardware is specified per SKU and locked before production: stainless steel or brass on halters, bridles and lead ropes, and zinc diecasting on accessory lines such as the K004 spur key ring at about 30 g per piece. Throat snap tension, buckle engagement and hardware attachment are checked against the approved sample at both in-line and final inspection.
Do you make leather halters and bridles, and how is the leather specified?
Leather halters and bridles are produced alongside nylon web, cotton web and padded fleece, all at MOQ 100 pcs with stainless steel or brass hardware. Microfiber leather is specified with a polypropylene webbing core, as on the SD007 stirrup strap: 1.35 m long, 2.5 cm wide, 250–260 g, stainless steel buckle; leather type, thickness and hardware per SKU are written into the spec sheet before sampling.
What rug sizes and fill weights can you produce?
Horse rugs run from 0 g rain sheets to 400 g heavyweight turnout in 600D and 1200D ripstop, in sizes 5’6″ to 7’0″, with custom sizing available. Twin chest buckles, cross surcingles, leg straps, tail flaps and shoulder gussets are fitted in-house, and every order ships with a size sheet — denier, fill weight and waterproof rating are confirmed per style and fixed on the spec sheet.
Which branding method holds up best on products that get washed repeatedly?
For pieces that are washed repeatedly, order embroidery or woven labels: both hold through washing and both sample in 3–5 days, the same clock as a printed logo. Printed labels are used where the branding sits clear of abrasion points; all three methods are produced in-house, and the method, size and placement are locked on the approved sample so the bulk run repeats it exactly.
Can you supply retail-ready packaging with my hangtag and barcode?
Retail-ready packing is set per SKU as polybag, export carton or retail box, and your hangtag, barcode and shipping mark are applied at the packing station, which is step 4 of our QC sequence. Packing is checked against the fixed spec — pieces per carton, inner packing, carton size and marking — so the carton size quoted is the carton size loaded.
Can I mix SKUs, sizes and product categories in one container?
One container can carry a mix of SKUs, sizes and categories at MOQ 100 pcs per model. Send the SKU list, unit quantities and shipping mark at quoting stage: every line carries its own packing rate, unit weight and carton size, so total CBM and the loading plan are confirmed before the container is booked.
How do you schedule production for peak season (August to November)?
Peak-season capacity is booked from a confirmed deposit, and bulk production runs 30–45 days from order confirmation and deposit, so an order confirmed before August is scheduled ahead of the September–November rush. Sampling keeps its standard clock — logo 3–5 days, material 7–10 days, ODM design 10–15 days — which is why your loading week is set by the sample approval date, not the inquiry date.
Is the sample fee refundable, and what does it cover?
Sample cost is payable before sampling starts and on standard OEM models is credited toward your first bulk order at MOQ 100 pcs. It covers the materials, the in-house pattern cutting and the first piece sewn on our own lines, plus courier handling; ODM samples also carry pattern-making and tooling cost, which is quoted before sampling begins.
What happens if a shipment arrives with defects?
Confirmed defects are resolved by replacement or credit when reported within 7 days of receipt with photos or video. Custom OEM and ODM goods are inspected against the approved sample before shipment and we keep a duplicate of that same sample, so a claim is settled against the reference you signed off. Warranty length in months: we do not publish figures for this yet.
Can you produce private label with no HorseMerch branding anywhere?
Private-label and ODM production carries your label only, at MOQ 100 pcs, with no HorseMerch mark on the product, the inner packing or the export carton. Your brand is applied by embroidery, woven label or printed label, and packing is chosen per SKU.
Does the 100 pcs MOQ apply per model, per colour or per size?
MOQ is 100 pcs per model, not per colour or per size, so a full colour and size run of one model counts against the same 100 pieces. Below that, trial quantities are available as samples on request, and on standard OEM models the sample cost is credited toward the first bulk order.
What do you need from me to start an ODM project, and how is it priced?
Send target market, product type, size and material spec, colours, logo method and target quantity — an ODM design sample is produced in 10–15 days from your drawing or sample. Development cost covers pattern making and tooling and is quoted before sampling begins; ODM MOQ is 100 pcs, the same as OEM.
Can I get exclusive rights to a design you develop for my brand?
Exclusivity is written into the order contract before production starts, not agreed verbally: an ODM model developed from your brief is produced for your brand and is not offered to other buyers without your written approval. Territory and duration are stated in the contract, and we do not publish figures for the minimum volume attached to exclusive terms yet.
How does a repeat order work after the first shipment?
A repeat of an approved SKU needs no new sampling: we keep a duplicate of the approved sample and the locked spec sheet on file, so the reorder goes straight to scheduling on the same 30–45 day production clock. Re-running to the same spec sheet is what keeps the second shipment matching the first.
How do you check stitching and hardware strength for horse safety?
Stitching density, hardware attachment and hardware function are checked at two points: in-line during cutting, sewing and assembly, and again against the approved sample at final inspection before packing. Load ratings and test standards: we do not publish figures for this yet — name the standard your market requires and it is quoted with your sample.
Can you share references or customer names from brands you already supply?
Client references stay confidential and we do not publish customer names; the verifiable substitute we offer is factory access on 7 days’ notice. Buyers and brand teams can visit the Zhejiang plant and walk the cutting, sewing and packing lines on their own order, or book an audit and a third-party inspection on WhatsApp +86 133 8657 5871.
